"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Pete Seeger Singalong at Columbia Heights DC public plaza
Apparently, many hundreds of people turned out, based on photos in the Facebook page.
It felt like thousands, but really was only hundreds. It was a great time. There is another more formal sing sponsored by FSGW on Sunday 2/9 at the Washington Ethical Society.
