Job Opening for Community Forklift

Community Forklift is a building materials recovery and resale organization created by Sustainable Community Initiatives. It will be opening soon and we (I am on the Board of Directors) are looking for a Chief Operations Officer to help get it off the ground. The retail store will open later this Spring.

Chief Operations Officer

For retail building materials warehouse store, position available immediately. Community Forklift, a start-up business located in the Port Towns area of the DC region, to specialize in surplus and salvaged used building materials. Successful candidate will provide date-to-day oversight of personnel, material acquisition, inventory and accounting. Bilingual: English / Spanish desirable.

Community Forklift is organized on a socially and environmentally responsible business plan to promote environmental protection, economic fairness and security, and community revitalization. This is an opportunity for a person knowledgeable in the building trades to shape a new company, hire staff, and build the regional market for recovered building materials. The Business Manager will have supervisory responsibilities over material and marketing managers, office assistants, warehouse stock personnel, pickup crews, and cashiers.

Base salary of $50/K/yr. Other benefits and bonuses to follow as business grows.
