The Royal Oak Music theater is a great facility in Oakland County Michigan. Royal Oak has had tremendous success in downtown revitalization, although the town continues to shrink. (RO once had two of the largest high schools in the area. Now they've merged into one school.)
I have two very fond memories of this theater. One was seeing a double bill of Harold and Maude and Annie Hall for $1.50; the other was seeing the Boomtown Rats the week I got home from freshman year at the University of Michigan.
According to the article, 2 of the 5 "big events" each month are sellouts. That's not bad...
