D.C. twin girls, Annie and Veda were inspired by the First Lady teaching kids how to garden. With the help of a senior gardener, the girls were introduced to planting, tending and harvesting their own organic food in a community garden in the city.
On Saturday June 5th, the girls and their mom, NPR Producer Justine Kenin, authors of We Grew It -- Let's Eat It, will be talking with Scott Simon on the nationally broadcast NPR show "Weekend Edition" about learning how to garden and then cooking their own organic food.
This picture book of full-color photos for young readers ages 3 to 8, (or gardeners of any age) retails at $15 and is available online.
