Tour de Port, bicycle event in Baltimore City, October 3rd

One Less Car is an intrepid organization focused on sustainable transportation advocacy, in particularly bicycling (the organization grew out of the Baltimore Bicycle Club), in the Baltimore region and more generally in the State of Maryland. They are under-resourced and under-staffed but they work very hard. (Sadly) they were able to use the death of Larry Bensky, cycling on Butler Road in northern Baltimore County and hit and killed by a driver likely distracted (I haven't read the police report so I don't know all the details) because the road conditions were fine, to finally get through the Maryland Legislature a 3 foot passing rule for cars vis-a-vis bicyclists, this past April.

Tour de Port, a set of bicycle arounds around Baltimore's port and waterways, is one of their major fundraisers. It will be Sunday October 3rd. (Last year, they were kind enough to let me set up an exhibit table for the Baltimore County Office of Planning and the Western County Pedestrian and Bicycle Access Plan effort which I led. It was my first public event.)
