Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

(Dog) S*** in the City

Dog Shit -- Pick up after your dogDog Shit -- Pick up after your dog.

I'll admit, I'm a cat person, partly because I don't have a lifestyle that is conducive to taking care of a dog (long walks a couple times/day, etc.). But this bugs me, similar to when people go to a public restroom and urinate without lifting the seat, leaving a urine splashed seat for someone else to clean up.

I wouldn't think you'd need to put up signs, but then again...
