Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Something kind of interesting

Site Meter is the visit tracking plug-in I use. It tracks the number of unique visitors, number of pages visited, etc. Even the free version provides some basic tracking functions.

(This is if you click on the Site Meter button at the bottom of the page.)

One of the things you can look at is what they call "Referral Pages."

Surprisingly, a number of visits to the blog are based on Internet searches. You can look at the search keywords and see what comes up. E.g., one of the searches was "Gentrification of Urban Space" and another about London tourism planning.

But you get to see the other hits, and you can find some interesting resources that you likely never would have come across otherwise.
