Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Too busy

The next two weeks are very difficult.

Board of Zoning Adjustment hearing on Oct. 10, class midterm Oct. 9, my own presentation in Silver Spring evening of Oct 10 for which I need to do a powerpoint, City Council hearing morning of Oct 11, another hearing, WMATA and development at Takoma Station, Oct 11 evening which I've been asked to testify (maybe not), plus the Zoning Commission Inclusionary Zoning hearing Oct. 10.

Plus the need to prepare voluminous comments for the Comp Plan revision, although I think it will be tabled. But just in case it won't be...

And more.

So as much as I'd like to and want to write stuff, it's likely my production will be declining over the next 10-14 days...
