Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

I know it's Texas, but...

According to Multi-Housing News, in "Living-Learning Residence Hall Planned for University of Texas at Dallas" "The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), located in Richardson, Texas, is planning a freshman ‘living-learning’ residence hall, anticipated to be opened within the next 18 to 24 months. When completed, the complex is expected to provide accommodations and parking for approximately 400 students."

Parking?

When I went to school, students in dorms didn't have parking privileges.
