"Face jobs" and supersizing

What do you call a "teardown in place," where the house isn't fully demolished, and the footprint isn't changed significantly?

This is the house two doors down from me.

Granted it needed work. But I find it interesting that "new" and expensive "arts and crafts" style homes are being constructed in this region and elsewhere.
