Marion Barry documentary
didn't seem all that well done or interesting, it being an effort of description, not evaluation.
I'm glad I had guests in town and didn't pay money to see it at AFI a couple months ago. For the schedule of repeat viewings on HBO (there was some interesting film footage from the 1960s and 1970s), see this article, "After 'Nine Lives,' Barry gets a 10th tonight on national TV" from the Examiner.
To learn more than is possible from viewing the film, instead check out a copy of Dream City: Race, Power, and the Decline of Washington DC from the library, or read this piece from the Washington Monthly.
