Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

The last hot dog at 7-11 (Blair Road and Kansas Ave. NW)

Finally walked over to 7-11 to see if they had the Washington Post, since our paper wasn't delivered. (Note that when I delivered the Detroit Free Press and the Ann Arbor News, I only missed one day of delivering in the winter, and that was because the DFP didn't deliver papers to me.) They had more food than I expected, except for meats and cheese. They had plenty of milk and eggs. Not much food for cooking, but then they have a paultry selection anyway.
