Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

New Street Cleaning no parking signs, DC (Kansas Avenue NW)

I wonder if DDOT has a graphic designer now, focused on information communication through signage? This is the first update of a DC street sign I can recall seeing.

Good post. Road signs are not only for the drivers but also for the people along the road. We deal in safety signs and was good to read this post which gave wonderful details about the road signs.
