Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Richmond VA Culture Expo tomorrow

This is interesting.  I like how Artscape in Baltimore includes cultural organizations as exhibitors, although the line up varies from year to year.  Arts on Foot in DC does this too, following the example of Artscape.

Anyway, the Richmond metropolitan area arts support organization, CultureWorks, sponsors the "Cultsha Xpo" each year.

The event has more than 50 cultural organizations as exhibitors, arts presentations, and free admission to the Science Museum of Richmond (which is in an old train station).
