Webinar on grassroots-led planning (November 20)
You are invited to join a webinar on grassroots-led urban planning hosted by PUSH Buffalo at 4pm EST on Tuesday, November 20. [Ed: PUSH, People United for Sustainable Housing, is described on its website as "a local membership-based community organization fighting to make affordable housing a reality on Buffalo’s West Side."]
The 45-minute program will review the principles, campaigns, and major accomplishments of PUSH's internationally recognized Green Development Zone, a twenty-block demonstration project to grow a new local economy on the West Side of Buffalo by reinvesting the fruits of grassroots campaigns into affordable housing and land reuse projects that employ people from the neighborhood.
The goal of the webinar is to spread awareness of projects like the Green Development Zone and share ideas about ways to expand the project and the movement that underlies them.
Presenters of the webinar will include Carl H. Nightingale, Department of Transnational Studies, State University of New York at Buffalo and PUSH staff members Clarke Gocker and Lonnie Barlow.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Professor Nightingale cn6@buffalo.edu to receive access information.
