Please walk on the grass sign
An entry, "A last run in May: Indicators of Vancouver," in Gordon Price's Price Tags blog called my attention to a "please walk on the grass" sign in Vancouver. The photo below is from Toronto, by Flickr user Reza Vaziri. I like it because of the attitude it presents, rather than the exclusionary "Don't" that we tend to come across far too frequently in our public spaces.

(Athough I suspect you would not approve of the smoke aspect)
true. I've been meaning to scan a full page ad in the NYT on smoke free buildings in NYC and comment on how smoking has been displaced to outside, and that it can be gross to walk in Midtown because of all the people smoking.
This is great! I use to get yelled at from the mean next door neighborhood. "Stay off my Grass"
