Valvoline Oil Change Shop puts tongue in cheek ad on their sign about "pumpkin spice" oil changes

September and October is the time where all kinds of food markets, coffee shops, etc., get on the pumpkin spice bandwagon, offering items featuring the spice.

This Valvoline Oil Change marquee sign ad pokes fun at the practice.

This article in Forbes Magazine "American Airlines Joins $500 Million Pumpkin Spice Fall Flavor Trend," make the point that the flavor is big business. From the article:

First introduced by Thompson & Taylor Spice Co. and McCormick & Company in the 1930s as a quick ingredient blend for pumpkin pie, the spicy mix remained quietly tucked away on kitchen shelves and was generally reserved for the holidays until Starbucks introduced its Pumpkin Spice Latte in 2003.
