Engaging "local" businesses in neighborhood cleanliness

While I think that dealing with merchants takes a lot of time and energy and can be infinitely frustrating, we do have opportunities to better engage them and provide "naming opportunities." (Of course, I've been cut off on my bike by a truck with a "I'd rather be biking" bumper sticker.)
