How about this for a sense of place and history?
Hundreds of sheep are driven in the annual parade through Madrid, Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005. The annual parade is held to protest the destruction of the country's ancient transhumance routes, used to lead livestock to the high pastures for the summer months in late May and early June and back to lower pasture in early October. The system evolved during the middle ages and endured until the 20th century but then broke down due to industrialisation and the movement of country people to the cities.
