Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

From Kevin Brady:

Just following up on postcards that were mailed out last week announcing the next public meeting for the NoMA Vision Plan & Development Strategy Project. The meeting will be held on March 16, 2006 from 6-8 pm in Harding Hall on the 8th Floor of the U.S. Government Printing Office Building. You will need to enter via the Bookstore Entrance at 710 North Capitol Street, NW.

Gather up your friends and neighbors and come out as we will be reviewing the Draft Plan itself! This is another opportunity for you to not only view the updated components that are determining the composition of the plan, but to have your comments heard and your questions answered as well. We welcome your feedback and participation-it is a critical element of the NoMA planning process!
