Get ready for Ledo's Pizza

ME-HOLDOUTAustin L. Spriggs declined repeatedly to sell his aging rowhouse on Massachusetts Avenue NW. Now, it clings to the edge of a massive construction crater four stories deep. (By Bill O'leary -- The Washington Post) .

Today's Post reports about guessing wrong on selling out to developers, in "A Solitary Stand at the Precipice: D.C. Architect Refused to Sell to Developers, Who Simply Press On Around Him," according to quotes in the article, the owner of the property has a desire to open a Ledo Pizza franchise at that location.

Ironically, at an ANC6C zoning committee meeting last year, I argued for street level restaurants on the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW, to help build the walkability of the area. Already people are walking there, because of the apartment and condominium buildings sprouting up.
