Fairfax government officials must have restrooms in their cars

if they say the reason they drive to a meeting with WMATA officials, rather than take transit*, is because the restrooms in the stations aren't open, according to a quote from Ray Pyland, director of commercial inspections for Fairfax County, on page 32 of the article, "Soul of a New System," about a greater focus on the customer on the part of the WMATA "Metro" subway system, in today's Washington Post Sunday Magazine.

The story is interesting, but doesn't say all that much, despite the thousands of words. (I didn't find the photos very compelling either.) This time, you might get more out of reading Home Channel News...

* There was a director of the U.S. Postal Service who refused to open documents sent to him via UPS or FedEx. He would throw them away...
