Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

It's all about your rank

According to the blog DC Community Voices, at least right now, this blog is ranked "fifth" in the community section of blogs, being out social-ranked by Wonkette, DCist, The DCeiver, DC Metrocentric.

Alas, with all such rankings, there usually is only one place to go, and that's down... I don't know the algorithm they use, and when it's about popularity, thought-heavy unsnarky blogs get crowded out over time.
