Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Urbanophile blog, Indianapolis

Nigel points us to this blog as one of interest, and I have to agree. See for example this post, "Indianapolis: Mayor Ballard 100 Day Report," which makes excellent points about Mayoral 100 day reports among others. The Urbanophile is particularly concerned with the lack of focus on broad strategy and vision, something that concerns me quite a bit, when it comes to mulling over the future of DC.

One "great" thing about Urbanophile is it might be one blog with longer entries than mine...
