Burying the lead: National Harbor provides transportation options for guests, not for employees
In the previous entry, "Frustration #3: the talk about transit oriented development and Prince George's County," I really did bury the lead.
the description on the transportation shuttle page on the National Harbor website that they provide a shuttle from the King Street Metro station in Alexandria to and from National Harbor for guests and tenants, but not for workers ("At booming National Harbor, commuting is a daily trial for service workers" from the Post).
And I don't understand how Prince George's County didn't require that National Harbor meet transportation demand management planning requirements that included serving all segments of transportation demand for the development, especially employees.
... which is what makes me sadly skeptical about all of Prince George's County's talk about their new focus on "transit oriented development."
