Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Richmond (Virginia) Riverfront Forum: Tuesday Feb. 18th

This article, "Richmond Riverfront Forum to Update Projects," has links to other articles on the topic as well as to the Riverfront Revitalization Plan.  They are doing a lot of interesting stuff.  And it's always worthwhile to read plans from other communities to get ideas.

I know the next time I get to Richmond, I want to check out the new trailhead at Great Shiplock Park for the Virginia Capital Trail, which looks to have great signage.  Etc.

When: Tuesday, Feb. 18, 7 p.m.
Where: Virginia War Memorial Auditorium, 621 S. Belvidere St., Richmond, Virginia
