Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

(North) Chicago Bungalow & VIntage Home Expo: Saturday April 18th

In keeping with the theme from earlier in the week, about Pittsburgh's Renovation Inspiration Contest, and the creation of "communities of practice" around living in the center city, house renovation, and neighborhood revitalization, this weekend the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association is sponsoring one of their home improvement expos.

They used to hold them once/year, and then stopped for awhile.  The Expo relaunched last year, and for 2015, it appears that they are holding more than one expo in a year, targeting sub-areas of the city.
