Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Utah Transit Authority Rider's License promotion

I think UTA does a lot of good marketing with pop up ads, billboards, and other promotions, along with how for certain kinds of events (not all, not sure how it comes about), a ticket qualifies as a ticket to ride transit, including the commuter railroad.

The Rider's License is an all summer transit pass for youth. This was a pop up ad in an online newspaper article.

But I really like the concept of a transit rider's license, as opposed to a driver's license for cars.
