Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Dupont Circle Update

Dupont Circle by Yolanda FrederikseDupont Circle by Yolanda Frederikse (lithograph available from www.washingtonprintmakers.com).

Although Michael Schade won't convert his e-newsletter into a blog, the "Dupont Circle Update" is a useful intermittent e-newsletter about events in that area of the northwest quadrant of the city. He has uploaded all of the 100 issues of the Update into an online archive which is accessible here, as well as in the DC-Regional Links section in the right sidebar.
