Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Locational information on DC schools

I just received a pdf map of all the DCPS schools in DC. There are 14(!) of the 147 listed located west of Rock Creek Park, I have to get going, so I don't have time to count the number of schools between North Capitol Street and Rock Creek Park. It's not an inconsiderable number. I'll pore over it later tonight and come up with some numbers. (At this time, the map doesn't include charter schools.)

The file is over 3 MB and I have to figure out either how to make it as a jpg, or provide public access to it.
