Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

From Carlos F. Pardo, Sustainable Urban Transportation Project:

If anyone is interested, there was a photo Flashmob in a TransMilenio station (Héroes) yesterday. It was done to react on TransMilenio' s policy of not allowing anyone to take pictures inside the system, so around 100 people (possibly more!) gathered in the station at 5:30pm to take pictures. Check out Flickr to see all photos that have been uploaded with the keyword "transmifoto."
