Regional transit budgeting workshops

The WMATA Riders' Advisory Council (RAC) will host Budget Workshops to give the public an opportunity to comment on Metro's FY08 Budget and make recommendations for budget priorities in future years as well.

The schedule for the workshops is as follows:

Wednesday, February 28th - Extended public comment period at the RAC's Budget Subcommittee meeting (beginning at 5:30pm), followed by a staff presentation on Metro's budget - the differences between the operating and capital budgets, how budget decisions are made, etc.

Saturday, March 3rd and Saturday, March 10th - Two facilitated workshops to put forward suggestions on the budget and to refine and prioritize these suggestions. Both workshops will run from 8:30am - 12:30pm at the Metro Headquarters building (600 Fifth Street NW Washington, DC 20001) and will be open to the public.
