Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Washington Business Journal article on the Florida Market

came out today. It's reprinted in the Capital City Market blog.

And yes, don't forget tomorrow's market tour, co-led by Elise Bernard, who was quoted in the article, and myself.

We start the tour at 10 am, meeting at the nw corner of 4th and Morse Streets NE, about 1.5 blocks from the Florida Avenue NE exit from the New York Avenue Metro Station.

If you like Korean food, you are welcome to join us at 9:15 am for breakfast at K-Young's, on the 300 block of Morse Street NE.
