Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

How to get from Philly to DC via Greyhound

Flickr photographer ethorson writes:

I made this for Sarah but it'd probably be useful for anyone. With the following exceptions: You don't have to take the 1:30 bus, I won't meet you at the station, and, um, don't actually call me. And YES, step 3 is missing. Just use your imagination and sub in whatever you usually do when waiting in a dirty bus station.
