Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Blog loading time

I'm not ready yet to shift to using "more" in terms of cutting back the amount of text in an entry displayed on the initial page. Of course, I think an entry is a coherent whole, and that you should read the whole thing... Instead I cut back the number of entries displayed to 4 days from 7 days. That should ease the loading thing.

I don't know why in Firefox the blog blinks, or immediately reloads after you first load it. I don't know html code well enough to figure it out.

And if there is someone out there who has some code so people could print out individual entries without getting the sidebar--which is huge because of all the links--please let me know.
