Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Top 20 International Urban Planning Websites 2012: Giants of Urban Planning Online: this blog at # 20

Well I have that Groucho Marx problem of not wanting to be a member of a club that would choose me as a member, but certainly I am appreciative of the Global Site Plans website picking this blog as worthy of a listing as one of the best international planning blogs "in the world."

I will say that I see two blogs missing that I would definitely include, Transport Politic and Urbanophile, and of course there is so much great work out there that we can easily find 3 more to round out a top 25 (or 30 or 50...).

That's still good company.
