Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Not thinking that WMATA would be into this

(cf. "Transit, stations, and placemaking")  This happened in NYC on a NYC Transit bus.  I imagine the Grammy organization got permission ahead of time...

Assuming that falls under the city's Made in NY initiatives which is both new media and film and TV production. That logo gets slapped on to any TV or movie made in NYC (on their transit ads) and includes and entire production suite of vehicles for rent for production. You see them all over the Village and Brooklyn. They also coordinate a lot of permission issues. It's a pretty well done economic development initiative.

this is a logical follow on kind of "systematization of realization" along the lines of what I discussed today as related to the monetization of an arena or stadium as the enabler of a digital content "platform."

I will have to check it out.

Thanks!
