Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Learning billiards at the Argonaut

Not all bars are kid unfriendly. Argonaut, 1400 block of H Street NE, Monday night.

The Argonaut has 1/2 priced burgers Monday night. More importantly, also wireless computer access. By default (meaning no other alternatives) it appears to be a place open to a wide variety of customers and ages, despite the establishment's preference to sell you beer and liquor.

The burger was good, the bun, from Lyon Bakery, was excellent!. The salsa is good (not quite as good as Red Sage, but good) but the tortilla chips need some work.
