High speed rail in the midwest

The Mode Shift blog has a nice entry "Build High Speed Rail in the Midwest," about this. When I am less busy, I suppose I can write more about this, such as the now all but dead Amtrak Maglev proposal for the East Coast (Baltimore-Washington Maglev).
