(World) Carfree Day, Monday September 22nd
World Carfree Day (see World Carfree Network and Carbusters Magazine for more) is being celebrated in the Washington region this year--last year DC had its own day a few days before the global date--with participation by major government sponsors including WMATA, the Virginia Railway Express commuter railroad, and the federal government property manager, the General Services Administration.
Check out the website, Car Free Day Metro DC, for jurisdictionally specific events and activities. One such is that on Monday September 22nd, rides on the DC Circulator bus will be free!
