Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Webinars on retail business improvement

From Jon Schallert:

Here is an invitation for you and any business owners you know who could benefit from a boost in sales and customer traffic: I will be conducting a Webinar Marathon on Wednesday, February 11th where I am going to conduct four live-webinars, each one being 1-hour in length, all in a 24-hour time period. I will conduct webinars on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 6:00 p.m. and 12 midnight Mountain Time. These webinars will focus on specific steps that businesses can take to increase customer traffic and drive more sales, regardless of this economy.

Everyday, I am hearing from small business owners about the challenges they are facing. There’s a lot of bad news, but there are business owners around the country who are experiencing major successes. During these webinars, I want to show business owners how to apply these successful tactics to their businesses.

These webinars are all free and no cost, but there are attendance limits. Please sign up quickly. We also suggest that if you have a group of owners who all want to view it, consider getting together as a group and projecting the webinar in a conference room, so more people can attend.

To sign up, just go to the
Destination University website and click on the Webinar Marathon link at the top of the page. You can also sign up by clicking this address:

We hope this helps your business and others.
