Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

2 more Transport for London tv ads

Both much more direct and frankly brutal than anything we're likely to see in the U.S.

-- Watch for bikes (motorcycles)

-- don't ride in unlicensed cabs (because this puts women at risk for rape).

The latter ad, the way it started, I thought that it was going to be more along the lines of DC1974's suggestion of a hip ad promoting transit as an alternative to driving while being inebriated. Nope.
