Street Closure, Parking Restrictions for "High Heel Race"

( Washington , DC ) Be advised of parking restrictions street closures today, Tuesday October 30, 2007, for the "High Heel Race" in Northwest.

Starting at 6 p.m., 17th Street NW will be closed from R Street to P Street . The roadway is slated to reopen by 11 p.m.

Parking restrictions will be in effect on 17th Street from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. East-west side streets in the immediate area off of 17th Street between R and P will also be closed to through traffic. Local residents will be permitted on side streets in the area with identification.

Those visiting the race area should plan ahead: use public transportation instead of driving to avoid parking and traffic delays.
