Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Amtrak Discount Codes

Abe writes:

I found this website a while ago and I decided to finally give it a try. I booked fares for two to Newark and saved $34. It doesn't have a discount for trains departing or arriving from DC or NYC but either way, with a little creativity Washingtonians can take advantage of this. IE. Buy your ticket from BWI, take the Metro bus or MARC to meet up with it there. The same principle would work for Newark to get into NYC. That trip would save for $98 off of a companion fare.
