Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Iphone app for Zipcar

Screen image, Iphone application for Zipcar
From Zipcar:

You've probably heard the big news that Zipcar now has an iPhone™ app. But did you hear all the cool stuff you can do with it? You can find and reserve Zipcars while walking down the street. You can honk your Zipcar's horn from across the parking lot. You can even use it to make pancakes! (Just kidding. But hey, two outta three.) If you haven't yet, download the Zipcar App for free.

As you use the app, please keep carrying your Zipcard. That way, if your iPhone runs out of juice, isn't getting service, or gets lost or stolen, you can use your trusty Zipcard to keep on zippin'. Scan your card once at the start of each reservation, then for the rest of the trip you can lock and unlock the car with just the iPhone. (Pssst. You don't need your Zipcard to honk.)

We worked hard on this app and we hope you dig it. If you have a chance, swing by the App StoreSM to rate and review us. Not rocking the iPhone? Check out our mobile page for what you can do with BlackBerry®, Android™ and other high-tech gizmos.
