Historical Society of Washington, D.C. to be featured on today's Kojo Nnamdi Show on WAMU-FM

Recovering from the D.C. City Council's debate on public funding for D.C. history programming, Historical Society of Washington, D.C. Board Chairman Merrick Malone will detail the Society's first new exhibit, *Wages of War: Bonus Army to Baghdad,* on *The Kojo Nnamdi Show* on Wednesday, July 25 at 1:00 pm. Society members and supporters are strongly encouraged to join the show, which airs on WAMU 88.5 FM, by calling 1-800-433-8850 or emailing kojo@wamu.org .

The striking and daring exhibit, opening this Saturday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m., explores the parallel struggles of World War I veterans and present-day veterans from the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. The Saturday, July 28 exhibit opening program will feature:

· detail about the District of Columbia's war time history and veterans;
·
an opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from veterans;
·
a viewing of the critically-acclaimed PBS video, The March of the Bonus Army; and
· question and answer with the authors of the 2004 critically-acclaimed book The Bonus Army: An American Epic.
