Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space

"A community’s physical form, rather than its land uses, is its most intrinsic and enduring characteristic." [Katz, EPA] This blog focuses on place and placemaking and all that makes it work--historic preservation, urban design, transportation, asset-based community development, arts & cultural development, commercial district revitalization, tourism & destination development, and quality of life advocacy--along with doses of civic engagement and good governance watchdogging.

Walking Town DC walking tours this weekend

Marc Fisher, the Washington Post columnist, has an entry on the Walkingtown DC. set of tours this weekend, mentioning the Florida Market tour -- I've created an interim Google Map for it, although there isn't much text -- and specifically calling out the H Street Alley tour on Sunday, which I have to say, is gonna be pretty good...

Thanks Marc! for the entry: Walkingtown DC--How To Learn Your City
